Ripley is a large school
situated in beautiful grounds in the city of Lancaster.
The school has a long and proud tradition, having been established as the gift
of Thomas and Julia Ripley in 1864. Their spirit of adventure, philanthropy and
faith is still at the core of what we do and what we offer today, almost 150 years later.
Ripley is first and foremost a church school and as such we try to live
out ours lives together according to Christian principles. As a worshipping community
we begin and end each day with prayer and through fund raising and community
ventures we work hard to care for and support those who are less fortunate than
ourselves.
We believe that education is about more than exam results. The academy
combines high academic achievement with a rich menu of extra curricular activities
and extensive opportunities for leadership and service. We work hard to ensure that
every child is known and is supported and challenged to do his/her best and take
advantage of all that is on offer.
You will find all our recent newsletters easily accessible on this website; they
will give you a sense of life at Ripley. I hope you will enjoy reading them. If you

our Open Evening is held annually in July.
